The Cambridge Growth Company

Homes England asked Participatr to support the Cambridge Growth Company in creating a digital platform for engagement with the city's residents, businesses and stakeholders.

What was the brief?

The Cambridge Growth Company (CGC) is a subsidiary of Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, set up to work with local and central government, convening and leveraging central government resources to promote and unlock key projects.

The CGC appointed a team of consultants led by Buro Happold and Prior + Partners to assist in the development of a vision for Greater Cambridge in February 2025.

The CGC sought to create a website, initially as an information sharing site, which will grow to become more interactive and gather the views of stakeholders and community groups as the vision takes shape.

What did we do?

We created a digital platform for the CGC, which has become a central online hub to provide key information on its activities and that is ready to support public engagement on the vision for Greater Cambridge in the future.

The website was custom branded to match the brand identity created for the CGC by Prior + Partners, which bespoke colours, fonts and logos. The public facing website features a series of tools, including information pages on the CGC's background and activities, a blog by CGC Chair Peter Freeman, a document library, FAQs, a form to sign up for email updates and a careers page.

The platform also features a stakeholder CRM with linked CGC email addresses, allowing the project team to capture, file and respond to stakeholder correspondence directly through the Participatr dashboard.

The digital platform will eventually deploy some of Participatr's more interactive features, including interactive maps, surveys and live polls, as public engagement commences, and is designed to act as a long term online hub for public engagement which will evolve over time.

What was the outcome?

A full-featured online hub for public engagement was launched on 6th May 2025, which has already captured a significant mailing list of interested stakeholders before public engagement commences in the coming months and years.
